Thank You Places Theatre Company Announces First Production
A new non-profit theater company is launching in Loudoun County, and is announcing their first independent production for December 2024. Thank You Places Theatre Company aims to bridge the gap and expand programs for middle and high school theatre students in the northern Virginia area. This new company will also offer expanded opportunities for students interested in all aspects of the theatre, from acting and technical production, to marketing, communications, and website design.
Thank You Places, along with Principal Bridget Beichler and the Trailside PTSA, will help expand Trailside’s theatre program, which performed The Wizard of Oz this past March. Offerings for Trailside in the 2024-2025 school year include the addition of Fall one-act plays and an end-of-year talent show, as well as the continuation of the annual Spring musical.
In addition to expanding Trailside’s program, Thank You Places is also announcing its own independent production to launch the company, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” This comedic and fun-filled show is centered on a fictional spelling bee set in geographically ambiguous Putnam Middle School. Auditions for this show will be held for rising sixth grade students to rising seniors. Audition dates, times, sign-ups, and all additional information can be found on the website, www.thankyouplaces.org.
“We wanted to create a space to diversify the students’ theatre experiences, and better prepare our younger students to ascend to high school theatre or beyond,” said Paisley LoBue, President and CEO of Thank You Places. “This unique opportunity expands theatre offerings to students, while also opening up a space for middle and high school students to collaborate on stage or in technical direction.”
Thank You Places is a non-profit theatre company run by Paisley LoBue, a professional actor, director, and playwright. She currently works as a performer, acting coach, and youth theatre director in the DC/VA area. LoBue obtained her bachelor’s degree in Theatre with a concentration in Performance for Stage and Screen (Acting and Directing) from George Mason University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts.
