Theatre Workshops

Registration is open for our first workshop!

Thank You Places Theatre Company is designing our Theatre Education program across several disciplines, including Performance Arts and the Business of Theatre, which encompasses a broad spectrum of activities related to producing, promoting, and staging live performances. Our educational service offerings will incorporate learning opportunities for a diverse community, ranging from theatre novices to experienced theatre youth, welcoming neurotypical and neurodivergent youth. We have included highlights of our educational opportunities below.

Intro to Directing *Masterclass*

Date: Thursday, March 6th

Time: 7:00-8:00 PM

Location: 19775 Belmont Executive Plaza Suite 500, Ashburn. The class is in the office building across the street from Whole Foods outside Belmont Country Club.

Price: $30

Participants of the Masterclass will learn the fundamentals of directing theatre by learning from tactics employed by great theatre directors. Plus, learn how they can begin directing in their own community as a young theatre artist!

Virtual Playwriting Club

Future Offering!

Grab a cup of tea and your thinking cap, and hop on a virtual call once evening each week to get your creativity flowing with a group of young aspiring playwrights. Guided by an experienced playwright, this supportive group of new writers will collaborate to write a new play together, and have the chance to share their personal writing with the group for feedback. Writers will learn about characterization, worldbuilding, and what sets writing for the stage apart from other forms.

Find and workshop your perfect audition monologue in a group setting that teaches participants how to provide and receive criticism and nail a monologue performance. Receive and observe active coaching from a professional audition coach. When performing a monologue, what works, and what are directors looking for in an audition monologue?

Techie Training Seminar: “Storytelling Through Tech”

In theatre, technicians are artists.

In this hands-on seminar, we’ll cover the basics, then take technicians to the next step by addressing the question: How do I use my individual artistry, opinions, and worldview to tell a story through tech?
